Within the module, you’ll be introduced to TU Online and its Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), giving you a first-hand look at the platform used to access learning materials, participate in activities, and connect with tutors and fellow students. You’ll explore how online courses are structured and how learning is delivered in a flexible, engaging way.
You’ll also gain helpful insights into the range of support available at Teesside University. From academic guidance and digital learning support to wellbeing and student services, you’ll discover how the university supports online learners throughout their studies.
In addition, the module includes examples from current online courses, allowing you to see how lessons, resources, and activities are presented. This will help you visualise what your own course might look like and how you will engage with your learning as a TU Online student.
By the end of the taster module, you’ll have a clearer understanding of how TU Online works, what support is available to you, and how you can succeed as an online learner at Teesside University.
